CANON EOS 20D, Lens Canon 75-300mm f4 - 5.6 Exposure 8seconds, f6.3 ISO 1600, unguided, white balance changed from 5500 - 3000 from RAW conversion to show more detail in the tail.

The photo shows McNaught and the dark moon in the top of it's tail.  However, having seen the moon and Venus last night (1/20), I realized that the image in the picture could not possibly be the moon, but rather a possible reflection of one of the heavy lights on the horizon. The position of Venus is, as you know, way to the right of the comet. The comet is still to the left of the point where the moon would have set.  But it looks very real!!! Could have been very nice.
