Finally we have clear and dark skies again after the full moon and clouds plagued us since 20/1/2007.
McNaught is easily spotted unaided and still looks stunning, but obviously more faint than it was in January.
The extravagant tail has disappeared but a slight trace can be picked up by boosting the brightness of the raw image,
turning the white balance down to 3000 (photo taken at 5500) and converting the image to negative grey scale
(5748_2.jpg). The LMC can also be seen in the top lh corner. |
